Sweet appam | Meethe pua in appe pan Sweet Appam or sweet paniyaram also known as meethe pua (मीठे पुए ) is a tasty and quick sweet snack recipe that is prepared with whole wheat flour and jaggery. This is an easy to make recipe. Here in this recipe, I have made in an appe pan. You can fry them in oil. In south India it is known as sweet paniyaram and in North India it is known as meethe pue. Generally it is prepared on a special occasion or festival. To make sweet appam, a smooth and dropping consistency batter is prepared by mixing whole wheat flour and jaggery syrup. Fennel seed powder, desiccated coconut and green cardamom powder is added to enhance its flavor. The batter should be lump free. This batter is cooked in appe pan till it become golden brown. You can serve this hot or at room temperature.

You may add yogurt or condensed milk as a substitute of egg to make it more fluffier and softer. Here in this recipe I haven’t used any milk substitute. To give orange flavor, I have used orange juice, orange zest and orange squash. If you are skipping Orange squash then take ¾ sugar powder as orange squash has more sweetness in it.
