Amchoor or dry mango powder is a very commonly used ingredients which adds a sour, tangy flavour. Keep a jar of amchoor in your spice rack at room temperature and whenever you want use it. Take a look at method of amchoor powder.

1/2 kg mangoesMethod:
- Take raw mangoes and wash them and pat dry nicely.
- Peel the mangoes with the help of vegetable peeler.
- Slice the peeled mangoes into long thin slices or strips. Soak all in water to prevent it from turning black.
- Spread the slices on a piece of cloth in the sunlight.
- Repeat it daily until the pieces turn crisp.
- Then grind them in a mixer till you get a fine powder.
- Sieve, if required to make an even powder.
- Store in clean sterile airtight jars and use as required.
Tips:
You can sprinkle salt on slices to increase the shelf life of powder. This prevents amchoor powder from turning stale.
