Easy to make Garlic Rice | Burnt garlic fried rice
Burnt Garlic chilli rice also known as “Burnt garlic fried rice” is a popular, tempting and delectable Indo Chinese rice recipe. Garlic has an important role in Chinese dishes. You can’t imagine any Chinese recipe without garlic. The making of burnt garlic chilli rice is similar to fried rice. This dish will satisfy your weekend craving. It is an easy to make recipe and takes only 15 minutes if you have already cooked rice.
To make burnt garlic chilli rice, cooked rice is sautéed with garlic, onion and veggies. Then it is flavored with vinegar and soya sauce. It’s method is similar to fried rice recipe. The most important tip in making fried rice is to use rice that has been previously cooked. Using previously cooked rice helps keep the dish from turning out wet or mushy.
This dish is perfect for weekend lunch or dinner. If you want to make some light dish for dinner, you can choose this.

Ingredients:
3 tbsp. ghee
6-8 garlic cloves, chopped
½ tsp. garlic paste
1 onion, chopped
1 capsicum, chopped
1 tsp. Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. soya sauce
¼ tsp. black pepper powder
Cooked rice
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Heat ghee in a pan. Add garlic and ginger paste, sauté till they become golden brown in color.
Add chopped onion, fry till they become translucent.
Add chopped capsicum and stir for some seconds.
Add Kashmiri lal mirch, black pepper powder, vinegar and soya sauce and mix.
Add cooked rice and salt to taste.
Stir fry for a minute till the sauce has coated the rice well.
Stir gently, don't break the rice.
Now your burnt garlic fried rice is ready. You can serve it with Manchurian.
Tips:
- If you don’t want to add soy sauce, you can serve plain. Soy sauce gives a dark color texture.
- You can drizzle with sesame oil, it gives a toasty, nutty flavor.
- You can sprinkle 2 tablespoon chopped spring onion green leafy part for garnish or towards the end.
- You can add vegetables of your choice.
