Besan Ke Crackers | Gramflour Snacks
Besan Creakers are crispy, tasty, spicy and quick savory snack. It’s like a small spicy ball prepared with besan (gramflour) and lots of spices. It gives a distinctive taste with a hot cup of tea. This homemade snack is made with minimal ingredients and a simple procedure. It can be prepared at home very easily.
Besan crackers are prepared with besan (gramflour), oil and lots of spices like turmeric powder, red chilli powder, yellow chilli powder, black pepper powder, garam masala, heeng, ajwain and baking powder. We knead dough from these ingredients. Then take a small pinch from the dough, give a shape and deep fry them. Let thtm cool properly and serve with a hot cup of tea.
The taste of this besan cracker is full of flavors and the texture is crisp. It can be served as tea time snack or made for any festival as a savory snack. Being a fried snack, it has a good shelf which can extend a couple of months. You can store them in an air-tight jar.

Ingredients:
3 cup besan
Salt to taste
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
½ tsp. red chilli powder
¾ tsp. coriander powder
½ tsp. ajwain
A small pinch heeng
¼ tsp. black pepper powder
¼ tsp. garam masala
¼ yellow chilli powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. mustard oil
Oil for frying
Instructions:
Take besan and all spices and oil in a bowl.
Add required amount of water and knead smooth and tight dough.
Cover and rest it for 30 minutes.
After that knead again the dough. Pinch a small portion of dough. Give a shape. Don’t make a tight ball.
Make all the balls like this.
Heat oil in a pan. Drop all the balls into oil.
Fry over low to medium flame till they become golden brown. Stirring continuously.
Remove from oil and keep aside.
Let them cool properly. Serve with a hot cup of tea.
Tips:
- The spices can be adjusted as per your taste and preference.
- Fry over low to medium flame otherwise they will remain uncooked from inside.
- Don’t make tight balls. Give shape roughly.
