Handi Paneer
Handi Paneer (हांडी पनीर) is a delicious, creamy and simple paneer recipe. This is easy to make recipe prepared with simple onion tomato gravy. This tempting and mouthwatering dish is extremely delicious and gives the restaurant like taste. This is a one pot recipe and have thick gravy that is coated on soft paneer cubes.
To make handi paneer, paneer is sautéed with onion, tomato and spices. There are so many variations of paneer dishes like kadai paneer, paneer tikka masala, paneer bhurji and paneer makhani but handi paneer does not require lots of spices and efforts. This is a quick recipe. It does not take much time to prepare.
Handi paneer is best served with naan, roti or laccha paratha. It can be prepared for lunch or dinner or can be served as a side dish. Indulge yourself in this easy-to-make North Indian recipe that will be loved by all your guests. It is simple and tasty dish that cannot be ignored.

Ingredients:
200 gm. Paneer
3 tbsp. oil
½ tsp. cumin
A small pinch heeng
1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
1 onion, chopped
3 tomatoes, pureed
5-6 ginger julienne
2 green chilli, chopped
½ tsp. turmeric powder
¾ tsp. coriander powder
¾ tsp. Kashmiri red chilli powder
½ cup curd
Salt to taste
½ tsp. garam masala
½ cup cream
Coriander for garnishing
Instructions:
Chop the paneer in cubes.
Take 3 tablespoon oil and heat it on medium to high flame. Add cumin seeds and heeng in oil.
When they splutter, add ginger garlic paste. Sauté till raw aroma goes away.
Add onion and cook till it become light brown.
Add ginger julienne and chopped green chilli.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Sauté for some seconds
Add tomato puree and cook for 1 minute. Sauté till they release oil.
Add curd and continuously stir on medium flame.
Add 1 cup water and mix. Add salt and garam masala. Mix properly.
Add chopped paneer cubes and gently mix.
Add cream and cook on low flame for 2 minutes or till gravy becomes thick.
Turn off flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
Handi paneer is ready to serve.
Tips:
- You may skip ginger garlic paste.
- If you want spicier, double the amount of red chilli.
- Use fresh and soft paneer.
- You may add capsicum and cashew paste to make it rich.
