Aloo Cheese Paratha

Aloo Cheese Paratha (आलू चीज़ परांठा) is another variation of aloo paratha. This is a wonderful paratha for your breakfast palate. Thia paratha is prepared with mashed aloo, grated processed cheese cube and herbs. You can easily prepare in the comfort of your home. Parathas are one of the popular breakfast recipes in North India and there is no way you can ignore them.

Here are so many variations according to stuffing. Most common one is aloo paratha and its variations like paneer aloo paratha, onion aloo paratha or gobhi aloo paratha. Aloo and cheese stuffed paratha is prepared very similarly to traditional aloo parathas. This is a great recipe for cheese lovers.
You can serve this paratha with or without any accompaniment. Serve this with tomato ketchup.

Aloo Cheese Paratha

Ingredients:

For Dough -

1 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
salt to taste
water as required for kneading

For Stuffing -

1 potato, boiled
salt to taste
2 processed cheese cube, shredded
¼ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp dry mango powder (amchur powder)
1 tsp. herbs
Oil or ghee for frying

Instructions:

Making Dough -

In a large mixing bowl take 1 cup whole wheat flour, ¼ tsp salt and mix. Add some water at a time.
Mix everything and begin to knead into a smooth and soft dough. Cover and keep the dough aside for 20 to 30 minutes.


Making Stuffing -

In another bowl mash boiled potato. Add shredded cheese, salt, herbs, red chilli powder and amchoor powder. Mix properly.


Making Paratha – 

Make a medium sized ball from dough. Roll it a little with the help of dry flour.
Put around 2 tbsp. of stuffing in the center.
Don’t overfill else it will be difficult to roll. Bring the edges together, make ball and flatten it with your hands.
Then apply a little dry flour, now roll it very gently and carefully into about 7 inch diameter circle using dust flour.


Heat a tawa. Put this stuff paratha on it. Cook from both sides using little amount of oil by pressing with spatula or spoon.


Paratha should become golden and crispy from both sides.
Serve this paratha hot with tomato ketchup.

Tips:

  • You can add chopped coriander and green chilli.
  • You can use mozzarella cheese instead of processed cheese.
  • You can add finely chop onion and garlic.
