Rava Uttapam (Instant Sooji Uttapam)

Instant Rava Uttappa or Sooji Uttapam is quick and easy South Indian breakfast recipe. This is a thick, shallow fried pancake prepared with sooji and curd. Generally Uttapam is made with the batter of rice and dhuli urad dal which has fermented for 8 hours or overnight in hot climate. If you are in hurry and want to make a quick and healthy breakfast so this is a better option. This is also a good option for tiffin box. Rava Uttapam is made from sooji (semolina), curd and vegetables like onion, tomato and capsicum. You can add grated or chopped vegetables of your choice. You can sprinkle veggies on the top of uttapam like pizza or mix with batter. In this recipe here is no need to ferment batter, so if you want you can add little amount of baking soda. You can use fruit salt (Eno). This makes uttapam soft and spongy. This traditional uttapam gives great taste with coconut chutney or coriander chutney. Dhokla

Khaman Dhokla (खमन ढोकला) is a popular Gujarati snack which is prepared with fermented besan (gram flour). This is the most loved snack not only in Gujarat but all over India. It is one of my favourite recipe. This soft and spongy dhokla is very nutritious and healthy because besan has lesser calories than whole wheat flour and is high in protein, fibre and micro nutrients. Soft and fluffy steamed dhokla have many taste in it like sweet, sour and spicy. This instant dhokla recipe is quick and easy recipe that is steamed and made in 20 minutes. Here is no need to ferment batter for 8 hours or overnight. You can serve dhokla for breakfast as well as a light snack in the evening along with a cup of tea. Gatte ki sabji is a very popular and traditional recipe of Rajasthani cuisine which is prepared with besan (gram flour) ke gatte. This Homemade coffee (Cappuccino) is frothy, creamy, instant hot coffee in Indian style. This is the easy way to make café style coffee at home with beaten process. Here is no need to have any coffee machine or equipment. A cup of coffee is not just any beverage but this is an energy booster also. At least for me, it’s rejuvenating. A perfect cup of coffee have lots of foam on top which you can make easily by beating the coffee and sugar. So it is called as beaten coffee. Banana Milkshake

Banana Milkshake is a healthy, easy and quick recipe which is prepared with two healthy ingredients banana and milk. This is a perfect way to eat a serving of fruit. This is a delicious and amazing beverage for adults and kids. Banana is rich in fibre and potassium whereas milk is a rich source of calcium. So this is an excellent drink for breakfast or post workout. Ingredients: 1 medium size banana 1 and ½ cup milk 1 tsp. sugar A pinch of green cardamom powder Instructions: Peel and roughly chop banana. Put banana slices, milk, cardamom powder and sugar in a blender. Blend until mixture turns smooth. Pour into a glass and served chilled. You can add ice cubes. Serve with saffron strands and chopped almond. Tips: You can add honey to make it healthier. Skip sugar. To make it thicker you can add more banana or some milk powder. To enhance its taste add vanilla essence or vanilla ice cream. Cardamom is optional, you can skip it.

Aloo Palak sabji

Aloo Palak Sabji is a simple and nutritious dish which is prepared with palak (spinach), aloo and spices. This healthy and vegan dish is from North Indian cuisine. This is a great way to eat palak in winter season. This can be served with roti or paratha. When potato and palak comes together, they give a great taste. There are two variation of this veg, one is dried aloo palak and another one is gravy curry. Here I have made dry aloo palak sabji. Cheese Garlic Toast

This is a quick breakfast or evening snack recipe. This is a simple bread toast recipe with the flavour of freshly grated garlic with melted cheese and butter. Spice it up with red chilli flakes and herbs. You can use any type of bread for this. I have used simple white bread and cheese spread here. You can use mozzarella cheese or processed cheese. Palak Raita

Palak raita is a popular accompaniment which is tasty and healthier. This raita is prepared with fresh curd and palak (Spinach) puree, tempered with heeng, jeera.  Palak is one of the green leafy vegetables and full of Iron, vitamins and fibres. On the other hand curd is an amazing refreshment and a good source of Protein, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Potassium and Zinc. So the combination of both makes this raita very nutritious. Tadke wala Raita

Tadke wala raita or heeng jeera raita is very common and popular in all over India. This raita is everone’s first choice in accompaniments. In this recipe curd is tempered with heeng and jeera. This is easy to make and served with stuffed parathas, pulao, khichadi or dry vegetables. Whenever I make any dry veg, my daughter prefers this raita along with that. This is very simple garlic bread toast recipe. It can be seasoned with red chilli flakes, crushed pepper or dried herb. This is a simple bread toast recipe with the flavour of freshly grated garlic with melted butter. This can be made in oven and on stove top. This is a great idea for your kid's tiffin box. You can serve this as a starter or with a hot cup of tea. You can use any type of bread for this. paneer chur chur paratha

Chur Chur Paratha is a popular paratha of Delhi and Punjabi cuisine. This paratha is stuffed with Paneer, pyaj and adrak. This is served with chole, paneer makhni or dal makhni. This paratha is so yummy that you can eat without any accompaniment. Lal Mirch ka Achar

Lal Mirch ka Achar (Red Chilli Pickle) is famous North Indian pickle which is stuffed with spices. This is hot, spicy and yummy pickle. This ‘Bharwan Lal Mirch ka Achar’ can be served with your favorite parathas. This is a delightful way to spice up your meal. Winter season is good for making various pickle like mooli ka achar , gajar ka achar . Red chilli pickle is one of them. This is Banarsi style stuffed red chilli pickle recipe. Mooli Paratha

Mooli ka Paratha (मूली का परांठा) is a yummy whole wheat paratha stuffed with shredded mooli (Radish) and various spices. This is another exotic paratha from Punjab cuisine. This is served with curd, pickle and any curry. My husband prefers this paratha with aloo tamatar curry along with coriander chutney. It can be consumed during breakfast, lunch or dinner whenever you want. In winters our heart crave mooli ke parathe. This veggie actually gives your health quite a boost. Mooli (radish) is very nutritious and healthy. Mooli is full of dietary fibre, which helps with digestion issues. If you have enough mooli salad every day, your bowel movement will be smooth.
